DESCRIPTION:The Seniors Farmers’ Market Nutrition Program (SFMNP) is designed to increase the consumption of fresh produce through farmers’ markets\, roadside stands\, and community supported agricultural programs by providing low-income seniors with access to locally grown fruits\, vegetables\, honey\, and herbs.This training is mandatory for any farmer who would like to participate in SFMNP for the 2024 season. All trainings are in person only. The event includes a farm fresh dinner\, keynote speaker\, presentation of the Farmers of the Year\, Young Farmer of the Year and Ag Partners of the Year awards. The event funds BFM programming including educational workshops\, cooking demos and kids activities as well as programming at the Southern Palmetto Regional Chamber supporting local small businesses and entrepreneurs.
